New Restaurant Heights Taco & Tamale Company Coming from ZAZA, Big Orange, Local Lime Group

Yellow Rocket Concepts™ (YRC), the proprietary group of restaurant concepts ZAZA, Big Orange, and Local Lime in Little Rock, Arkansas, is thrilled to announce our newest restaurant project, Heights Taco & Tamale Company (HT&T). HT&T will be located at 5805 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, AR in the ‘Heights’ neighborhood. The anticipated opening is slated for late summer/early fall 2014.

HT&T’s menu is an exciting, vibrant mix of authentic Mexican and Spanish dishes prepared Texas-style. Our mouth-watering TexMex menu, created by YRC Executive Chef Scott McGehee, will feature classic dishes such as House Made Tamales, Burritos, Nachos and Churros with a modern flair, commitment to locally produced goods and excellent service that YRC restaurants have become known for.

“Working with tamales in our test kitchen last fall inspired me to revisit the recipes my father created during his days as co-owner and co-creator of Blue Mesa Grill and Juanita’s,” says Scott McGehee, Executive Chef of YRC. “The days spent with him and the food we ate during that time made such a huge impact on me personally and professionally. I’m developing this menu to accomplish several things: to pay homage to the quality of food he [McGehee’s father, Frank McGehee] loved and helped produce, to carry on the tradition of great TexMex in the Heights and to be small enough so we can experiment with creative specials, yet large enough to make sure everyone can enjoy their new favorite HT&T dish anytime. Incredible tamales with depth of flavor and creative ingredients, simple savory, crispy beef tacos, and a totally new and original cheese dip… so many delicious possibilities. We just can’t wait to get started!”

HT&T will feature a full service bar with a comfortable, dynamic atmosphere: a great place to watch the game, celebrate, or gather with friends. YRC’s Director of Beverage, Lee Edwards will offer a full lineup of original margarita recipes, local craft beers on draft and by the bottle as well as house made sodas and infusions. In addition to great drinks, HT&T will feature flour tortillas made on-site, original recipe desserts including soft serve ice cream, and signature salsas. A very limited menu will be made available for drive-thru pickup at the HT&T ‘Rapido’ window (details to come).

HT&T is looking forward to continuing the well established tradition of culinary excellence and collaboration in the Heights and to serving the Little Rock community for many years to come.
