Loblolly Brings Warmth to their Winter Seasonal Menu

Winter is always an interesting time to be a place focused on ice cream and other frozen treats. Thankfully our favorite local frozen places get creative in the winter, bringing out some of their very best items in the cold months.
Loblolly Creamery’s latest is geared to keep you warm inside with a heavy focus on warm winter specials inside their home base of the Green Corner Store’s soda fountain.
“We have put a lot of effort into developing great new baked goods for the winter. I think they really complement our ice cream selection,” Owner Sally Mengel tells us.
New at the soda fountain are a selection of cookies, brownies and cinnamon rolls. These are best paired with some of their specials like the Banana Whama Sundae, Berry-teaful-sunday, and the Afternoon Snack. All of which feature a different baked good paired with ice cream and toppings.
Also back is Loblolly’s excellent hot chocolate, which this time includes lavender vanilla, fresh mint, and nutella flavors. Loblolly is additionally starting to serve Mountain Bird coffee freshly brewed in either a french press or pour over along with their cold brew coffee.

Ice cream flavors are not neglected in this menu, there are a number of new offerings this time around. Our favorite may be the Chocolate Stout which features Argenta newcomer Flyway Brewing’s Shadow Hands stout mixed with milk chocolate ice cream. Also new are the orange creme fraiche sherbet, earl grey lemon, bruleed grapefruit sorbet, and banana bread along with a few returning stars. It may be one of their strongest ice cream lineups in recent memory.
Loblolly is also looking to return limited flavor editions with local chefs and partners. These are usually short run and go fast, so keep an eye out for these.
