Loblolly and Honey Pies Pair Up For Thanksgiving Goodness

Thanksgiving is nearly upon us – which means it’s time to start thinking about turkey, mashed potatoes, and of course, pies and other delectables. Luckily for Central Arkansas, there’s a lot to be thankful for – like this ‘Pie and Pint’ collaboration between Loblolly Creamery and Honey Pies.
From now until November 16, you can preorder a 9 inch pie and pair it with a pint of ice cream. All you have to do is pick up your treats in the store on November 22 and 23. Even better for the indecisive eater out there – you can preview the flavors this Saturday at the Holiday Pre-Order Tasting Party.
Sharon Woodson, the force behind Honey Pies, says, “Sally and her team have been vital in supporting Honey Pies’ growth throughout our first year as a business and we truly value our local collaborations. Our friendship and partnership grew out their generosity and encouragement, and I have always admired their activity within our community as well as their brand presence. One day I decided to pop by Loblolly’s soda fountain to introduce myself, and I left them my Chocolate Fudge Brownie Pie to sample. Sally immediately reached out to me and offered to host Honey Pies for a pop-up event. We quickly realized that we made a great pairing.”

You can choose from all the classic pies that make Thanksgiving a tradition – like Pumpkin Toasted Meringue and Sweet Potato Meringue. Don’t forget your favorite fruit-filled delectables like Apple and Cherry Streusel, or give into your sweet tooth with Honey Pecan and Chocolate Fudge Brownie.
On the ice cream front you can complement any pie with Loblolly’s Double Vanilla, Buttermilk , or Chocolate Malt Ball – each a solid stand by in its own rite. For fall flavors in full force opt for Salted Caramel or Bourbon Pear, Caramel Swirl, and Cardamon Cinnamon Toffee.
Why not combine the two? You can also get a Loblolly Ice Cream Pie for $30. The Buttermilk Brown Sugar Ice Cream Pie comes with a 9 inch flakey crust, a brown sugar filling, chocolate ganache, and buttermilk ice cream. It’s topped with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, and candied pecans.
Woodson continues, “Our upcoming Pies and Pints event will absolutely be my favorite collaboration with Loblolly in a long line of fun events we have shared with their team. Anyone who knows me understands that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because “it’s sweet potato pie time!” The recipe we use at the shop belonged to my great grandmother and its super-secret.” Plus, there’s no wrong way to pair a pint and pint, as she continues, “When we hosted Loblolly for our initial Thanksgiving menu tasting, I found the pie to be a perfect complement to Loblolly’s Cinnamon Toffee ice cream.”
Sally Mengel of Loblolly love working with Honey Pies. She adds her favorite combination – “Pie and ice cream are a match made in Thanksgiving dessert heaven. You’ve got to try the Brownie Pie with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.”
Order your sweets in-store at either location – 1423 S. Main Street or 315 N. Bowman Road Suite 14. You can also head online to make your order, as well. Also, for the SOMA-centered, you can pick up pie slices at the Soda Fountain.
