First Taste: Bill’s Country Kitchen Now in Anatolia’s Old Space

I drive down Bowman Road a minimum of two times a day … heck, sometimes up to ten. So when I saw a makeshift sign near the sidewalk in front of Little Caesar’s that read “Bill’s Country Kitchen,” I excitedly scanned the strip center for the new space. I found nothing.

Where was this Bill’s Country Kitchen?

Two days later, and with a few extra minutes to spare, I actually pulled into the parking lot this time around to take a further look. Sure enough, Bill’s Country Kitchen is where the now defunct Anatolia’s used to be, except the main Anatolia’s sign is still up, and thus the confusion.

Sign mishap aside, curiosity led me to pop in for a quick bite. As the name suggests, Bill’s offers up a selection of downhome options and various Southern favorites. I opted for the “Plate Lunch,” which included a main course, two sides and a bread choice, all made from scratch and at a reasonable cost of $8.50. Specifically, my plate consisted of baked chicken, turnip greens, mashed potatoes with gravy and yeast rolls. And although my chicken was under-seasoned, the meat itself was super tender and paired well with the sides. The mashed potatoes were tasty, but it was a dynamite bowl of turnip greens that will inspire a return visit.

Let’s just hope they can get their own sign in the very near future.
