First Taste: Baja Grill Adds Saturday Brunch

It was only a few years ago that we saw Baja Grill transition from a Benton Food Truck to a Little Rock brick-and-mortar. Since then, the eatery has settled nicely into the neighborhood, quickly becoming a Heights favorite.
Any good restaurant gets to know its customers, and as such, Baja has delivered on a communal outcry – more Mexi-Cali fusion in the morning. You read right – earlier this month the restaurant unveiled their brand-new Saturday full-service brunch.
We took a trip out to investigate and didn’t leave disappointed.
The menu is fun, packed with flavor, and ultimately provides a little something for everyone. Those with a sweet tooth can try the “fresh and sticky” Cinnamon Bun, but the real treat is the 5-0. Already a staff-favorite, think sweet and savory combo with ham, an over-easy egg, and cheese – all gooey and smushed atop a glazed donut.
Yes. Glazed. Donut.
It’s delicious – and the restaurant knows – as you have the option to order one or two (we can’t help but suggest to order two.)
Don’t pass up Scott’s OMG! The ham, sunny-side egg, and horseradish cheese pair well with the star of the dish – the cranberry buerre blanc sauce.
For something on the lighter side, check out the Quiche – a blend of caramelized onions, bell peppers, and cheese, and spinach. You also couldn’t go wrong with the Avocado Toast which is more like delicious guac a-top bread – which you can have with a fried or boiled egg.

When it comes to Breakfast Tacos have it your way with your choice of ham, bacon, or chorizo – a choice which extends to the Breakfast Burritos or Heuvos Rancheros. Also, when it comes to sides, the Baja Potatoes are a definite star.
Don’t forget the drinks. The mimosas are good, but you really want to try the Bloody Maria – everything you’d expect in a Bloody Mary (which also graces the menu), but with Tequila. Or Mezcal.
Order it mild or spicy and, either way – you won’t be able to have one.
Check out Baja’s brunch for yourself on Saturdays from 8 – 2 p.m. (with the regular menu also available beginning at 11 a.m.) You’ll thank us later.
