The Little Rock Guide to New Year's Eve 2014

It’s been a good year for eating…so let’s send 2014 out with style. There’s no need to sit at home alone this New Year’s Eve—plenty of local restaurants and bars are ready to help you ring in the New Year. And if you’re wondering where you should spend your night, here’s a list of several places looking to help you say hello to 2015.
South on Main: Here’s a message from Amy Kelley Bell: “South on Main will be open New Year’s Eve with a very special Social Hour starting at 4 PM, dinner service including a special NYE Tasting Menu at 5 PM, and we are thrilled to ring in the New Year with a special concert from Amasa Hines at 10:30 PM. Complimentary champagne toast at midnight, followed by a DJ set from the band. $15 cover at the door. Call 501-244-9660 to make a reservation for dinner. (Amasa Hines is a seven piece, Little Rock, Arkansas-based band whose sound is as big as their influences are wide. Their influences come from a diverse range of Soul, Afro-Beat, Psychedelic, Blues, Dub, and Indie Rock stylings.)
109 and Co.: A message from Michael Peace on what’s happening at 109 & Co: “$5 cover, open until at least 1am, and Happy Hour Cocktail specials all night long….which are $8 Negroni, Boulevardier, and Manhattan classic cocktails, and also our signature cocktail, 43 Decatur, for $8, as well. All of these are made with the highest quality ingredients.”
Ciao Baci: Chef Owen is preparing a special NYE 6 course Chef’s Tasting Menu, all paired with red or white wine or beer. There’s also an a la carte menu available with items like veal shortrib wellington with foie gras duxelle, a BBQ pork shank, and Berkshire chorizo fritters. Afterthought Bistro and Bar: The dining room has four seatings, at 6:30, 7, 8, and 8:30 pm…reservations required (call 501-663-1196). Offering a 3-course fixed price menu for $60 per person with numerous options like roasted butternut squash soup, prime rib, grilled swordfish, pork osso bucco, and stuffed cornish game hen. At the bar, they’re hosting the sounds of Jazz/Funk/Soul band “That Arkansas Weather” at 9 pm, with a special bar menu until 11, with $15 general admission and $25 reserved seating. There’ll be party favors supplied and a champagne toast at midnight.
Vesuvio: Offering a 4 course menu for $60 per person, featuring arancini, salads, risotto, beef tenderloin, and sea bass. Live music by John Willis, at the piano until midnight and a midnight toast for all in attendance. Call for reservations: 501-246-5422
Table 28: A message from Table 28: “Please call for reservations for the NYE dinner event featuring a $75 five-course menu assembled by Chef Scott Rains. Guests can make reservations by calling us directly at 501-224-2828. Dinner starts at 4 pm. The Ted Ludwig Jazz Trio will be performing in our hotel’s Atrium from 7p.m. until 10p.m. that night. The Burgundy Hotel is also offering a special New Year’s Eve room package with this event. For $249 plus tax, 2 guests will receive one night’s accommodations in a king suite on the night of 12/31, dinner for two in Table 28 that evening, a $20 breakfast voucher and a 1p.m. late checkout on 1/1.”
Cache: They’re putting on an event titled “The Party at Cache with Party Planet”. This features a “Champagne Toast at Midnight, light Hors D’Oeuvres, the rocking music of Party Planet upstairs, and DJ Ronnie in our downstairs lounge.” Tickets are available here (must be 21 to attend). They are also offering a 4-course dinner that evening, cost is $75 per person, with 2 seatings available at 5:30 and 8:30 pm. Dugan’s Pub: The Shannon Boshears Band will be playing all night (no cover), with a champagne toast at midnight. Also offering a filet and wine dinner for $28 per person. On New Year’s Day, they’re serving black eyed peas, cornbread, and beer bucket specials all day long.
Acadia: Offering a reservations-only, 3-course dinner for $56.75 per person, limited seating. Meu features items such as shrimp bisque, oyster stuffing, smoked gouda mac and cheese, pork chops, and beef tenderloin. Call Gregory at 501-603-9630 for reservations.
Juanita’s: They’re doing salsa dancing all night for $10 at the door with a free lesson starting at 9 pm. Party begins at 10 pm.
The Little Rock Marriott: Offering several guest room packages starting at $229 a night or individual tickets for their events for $50. Entertainment by Rave Rasico Dueling Pianos and The Big John Miller Band with a Midnight Breakfast in the Ballroom. This is a ticket-only event — go to www.ticketweb.com and enter “Little Rock Ballroom Bash.” They will also be holding a second party entitled “Wind Down 2014,” which features guestroom packages starting at $189 per night, with individual event tickets for $40 each.  This will be held in the Governor’s Hall at the Statehouse Convention Center from 9pm-2am. Entertainment by Chris Henry, Almost Infamous, and Midsouth Soul Revival. Tickets may be purchased at the same website above — enter “Little Rock Underground” to find them.
Revolution Taco and Tequila Lounge: “We are offering a celebratory menu for two with cheese dip & salsa appetizer, choice of entree with side, and champagne toast priced at $30 per couple. Boom Kinetic and Barrett Baber will perform next door in Rev Room at 9pm. Call 501-823-0090 for reservations.”
Stickyz Rock ’n’ Roll Chicken Shack: “Kitchen is open until midnight, and we are ringing in the New Year with champagne toasts at 11pm for our East Coast friends and again at midnight.  Live music by Lucious Spiller Band and Four on the Floor. Call 501-372-7707 for reservations.”
The Pizzeria at Terry’s: Kitchen will be serving pizzas until 11 pm, bar open until after midnight to help you greet the New Year.
