I honestly know nothing about it other than seeing a friend on Facebook ate there and enjoyed it, but looks like Al Seraj Mediterranean Restaurant recently opened in WLR.

The Green Corner Store & Soda Fountain is celebrating their 6th Year Birthday on Saturday, July 11 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be specials throughout the day, along with local vendors, crafts, refreshments, samples, and even door prizes.


Rock Town Distillery is offering a whiskey tasting on Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m. “The night starts with a brief distillery tour with our Founder and Head Distiller Phil Brandon, followed by a guided sit-down tasting with four exceptional Rock Town whiskeys, paired with local cheeses and meats: 5th Anniversary 4 year old Bourbon Whiskey, our new 3 year old Bourbon Whiskey, 4 Grain Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey, Single Barrel Reserve Rye Whiskey-Cask Strength. Local neighborhood nano-brewery Stone’s Throw Brewing plans to celebrate its second birthday with The Block on Rock Birthday Bash on August 1 from 3-10 p.m. (commemorating the opening of the onsite taproom to the public on August 1, 2013).

The Arkansas Brewers Fest is set for July 18 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Arkansas State Fair. There will be sample brews from around the Natural State at this fundraiser for the Arkansas Brewers Guild. Regular admission (includes entry and 10 sample tickets) is $9.99 during online pre-sale and $15 at the gate. VIP admission (includes entry, 25 sample tickets, and souvenir tasting glass) is $19.99 during online pre-sale and $30 at the gate. Free, secure parking available within the Arkansas State Fair complex and food will be available for purchase.

The LRCVB is running a sweepstakes to give away four summer vacation packages designed to appeal to both out-of-town visitors and residents of the Little Rock area. It’s never too early to start dreaming about the Little Rock Bacon Fest.

Loblolly Creamery, located inside the Green Corner Store & Soda Fountain at 1423 Main Street, will host an Ice Cream Happy Hour on July 9 from 5-7 p.m. featuring handcrafted sodas, ice cream and boozy floats using Rock Town spirits, and a portion of the sales will benefit Thea Foundation.

The next 3-course wine dinner at Ristorante Capeo is set for Monday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per person. Menu includes: Beef Carpaccio (Decoy by Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc), Red Snapper Ravioli (Decoy by Duckhorn Pinot Noir), Duck Breast (Decoy by Duckhorn Merlot). We’ve gotten word that Hot Rod Wieners has upgraded to a new truck which will debut at Westover Wednesday this week. The truck will also be carrying Loblolly ice cream full time, along with some new additions to the menu.
