Rumbles: Far East Asian Cuisine Closed, 10 Days Left for Kroger on Shackleford

Far East Asian Cuisine is closed. Honestly, I’m not sure when this all went down, but we were informed by a reader of its demise, and a phone call to the former restaurant kicked back a “this number is no longer in service.” Not to hit a place when it’s down, but my one and only visit to Far East over a year ago wasn’t meant with favorable results.
More bad news … the Kroger on Shackleford Road in Little Rock is closing on February 28th. As many of you have mentioned across social media, this store has been on the decline for quite some time, and I’m guessing the threat of larger/newer competing stores in the area was finally just too much to bear. I’ll say this much, while the produce sucked, it sure was a nice spot to get gas.

The crew will head downtown to help us open Damgoode Pies River Market.” No word on how long this location will be closed for renovations.

Finally, an Update on The Southern Gourmasian: If you remember The Southern Gourmasian was targeting two weeks ago as an update as well as a special Valentine’s Day dinner. According to co-owner Pat Beaird final inspections are holding up the launch of the restaurant. No time frame is set right now for the open, but will happen very shortly following sign-off by the city inspectors.
