BASH Burger Co. has been open for a few months now and is ready to update its hours of service. BASH will now be open seven days a week, although it has cut a few dinner services during the week. The new hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. BASH moved from a food truck in Saline County to Bowman Rd. in the space formerly occupied by Bruno’s Italian Bistro.
Tomato season is officially here in Arkansas, and that means plenty of local restaurants are rolling out their best dishes featuring Arkansas heirlooms. There’s not nearly enough room here to name all of them, but a few worth checking out include Big Orange’s heirloom caprese salad, South on Main’s BLT, Boulevard Bistro’s caprese, heirloom tomatoes and toast at Lost Forty Brewing, and The Southern Gourmasian’s Thai-inspired heirloom salad with Sichuan peppercorns. Or you can up some fresh heirloom tomatoes directly from the source at one of several farmers markets this Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking of farmers markets, Dunbar Community Garden is once more selling its produce directly to you. Today only from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., Dunbar will have tomatoes, leeks, greens, carrots and a host of other items for sale directly from the garden on Chester St.
Downtown Asian diner Three Fold Noodles and Dumpling Co. has announced some changes to a few of its menu items. Three Fold has updated its marinated tofu recipe to make it fit better with the texture of both its buns and its noodles. The restaurant has also tweaked the vegetarian dumplings to better work with the tofu. In addition, Three Fold has added a citrus-infused Oolong iced tea to the menu. The restaurant already debuted its cold Sichuan Mala noodle bowl as part of its summer lineup.
Barbecue lovers, rejoice! Three Sams BBQ Joint has announced it is rebuilding after it was destroyed in a fire earlier this year. We talked with owner Annette Jones last week about her plans to bring Three Sams back.
Did you know there’s a diner serving authentic British food in Central Arkansas? We took a look this week at the charming Wee Betty’s Café in Jacksonville.
Loblolly Creamery is more than just excellent ice cream. We stopped by this week for a look at some of Loblolly’s new macarons.
