Open Roundup: Local Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Natural disasters tend to bring out the best in Arkansas. It is a time to put aside differences and respond in ways that help the most.
We were able to gather info on a few local efforts to provide relief to the areas of Texas impacted by Harvey. This is meant to be an ongoing roundup of efforts, I know there are more than this going on. Please email, message, or comment about any locally organized efforts you know and we will add it to the list.
Red Cross – Yes this is about local, but most often the best and most direct way to donate is through the Red Cross.
The Van/Aaron Reddin – The Van understands the needs of the homeless like none other in Arkansas. After a disaster the homeless community are some of the most severely impacted. The Van is organizing an effort to care for the needs of Houston’s homeless community and make sure they get the attention they need.
Chef Stephen Burrow (Dugans/Strattons) – Stephen is attempting to organize a group of food service industry folks to go down and help with relief. He is looking for some local chefs to join him in a trip along with any food distributors or other restaurant professionals to donate food or resources for the trip.
Arkansas Baptist State Convention – They are going to Texas with mobile shower and laundry units along with the typical food and supplies.
