Mo Betta Gumbo in Benton Closes

The Saline County food scene took another hit this week as cajun restaurant Mo’ Betta Gumbo announced they were closing.
The location just off I-30 near Saline Memorial Hospital has been one of the few bright spots in the Benton food scene. It was the second location for Mo’ Betta which originally launched in Loveland Colorado.
“We have enjoyed the ride ya’ll! There are not words enough to express the gratitude that Brooks and I feel for the ones of you that we call “regulars” (you know who you are) You have become like family to us and we love you all. We appreciate all the love and kindness that so many of you have shown over the past two years. This community is a very special place and we have enjoyed serving so many of its wonderful people,” the Mo’ Betta owners said in a Facebook post.
The final day for the restaurant was this past Sunday, August 28th.
Mo’ Betta Gumbo opened in Benton in late 2014 taking over the former Bo’s BBQ location on the I-30 access road. While we were rarely able to make it out to the location, it did have a loyal following from many of our Saline county readers.
All may not be lost for Mo’ Betta fans however, the restaurant received an outpouring of support on their Facebook page following the announcement. They later gave indication that they may look at relocating somewhere down the line saying, “Because so many of you have requested to be notified if and when we relocate, We have been racking our brains to think of ways to stay in touch. The best idea we could come up with is this….Chef Clay (Brooks brother) who is the owner, operator and the overall master mind of the original Mo Betta Gumbo in Loveland Colorado has agreed to help get the word out should other possible options arise for the Arkansas location.”
We will keep an eye on any new development for the restaurant’s future.
