Growlers: Thanksgiving Week Beers from Lost Forty and Rebel Kettle, Classes from Water Buffalo

Thanksgiving week is always a light week in the beer world. Most of your breweries will be closed Thursday, however most are open back up again on Friday. Hours may shift on Wednesday and Friday, I know for instance Rebel Kettle is thinking about opening late. Be sure to check before you head out.
Lost Forty will still still run a fresh cut Monday today. The release this week is a Prime Pilsner that is a light, crisp, easy drinking beer as an homage to classic American Pilsners. Get it today (Monday) at 4.
Rebel Kettle will shift their weekly beer release to Friday. This time around they are bringing back one of their launch favorites, the Wake n’ Flake, just in time for dealing with black Friday. For those of you who missed it the first time around, the Wake n’ Flake is an interesting blend of coffee and coconut that balances out surprisingly well. It was one of our favorite beers on tap when Rebel Kettle opened their doors.
The Little Rock Trojans are expanding their craft beer offerings in the Jack Stephens Center to include Flyway and Ozark beer along with the familiar Diamond Bear. It is overall a great upgrade to game day beer drinking experience. There are very few arenas on a college campus in the country where you can find craft beer being sold.
Stone’s Throw Brewing is running a 1/2 gallon growler special Tuesday and Wednesday for all your Thanksgiving drinking needs. Stop into the tap room and you can get $3 off any 1/2 gallon growler fills.
Water Buffalo has some great beer making (and related) classes for anyone interested in homebrewing. Here are a few of their upcoming classes to check out. These are all free to attend, and could be the start of an outstanding Christmas gift.

Beer Events to keep on your radar
Apple Blossom Tap Takeover at Skinny J’s – December 1st. There is not a lot of Apple Blossom beer in Little Rock, so it is always great to see a tap takeover with one of our Northwest Friends.
Art of the Bar – December 4th. Not technically a beer event, but Art of the Bar at South on Main is a very creative blend of local crafts, arts, with one of the city’s best bars.
Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival March 29 – April 2, 2017. This is a unique pairing of film and beer festival, and seems to be growing every year.
Foam Fest – April 14th. Foam fest is always one of the largest beer events each year, with a ton of good releases and special brews.
