Go Eat An Arkansas Pineapple Whip…While You Still Can

There are many reasons to take a trip to Walt Disney World, but generally speaking, their culinary delights is not one of them. There is one exception to this statement, however. Lurking just outside Disney’s slightly annoying Enchanted Tiki Room, you’ll find the most refreshing snack in the Magic Kingdom…the Dole Pineapple Whip. This tropical treat is a obligation on any visit to the park. But if a trip to Disney is just not in the cards for you any time soon, fear not…your local Arkansas vendors have got you covered.
With two locations in Arkansas (Sherwood and Conway), the folks at Arkansas Pineapple Whip are dishing out some terrific frozen treats. But with the end of the warm weather just around the corner…you gotta get one while they last.
Arkansas Pineapple Whip serves their dishes out of a bright yellow trailer with a few outdoor tables and chairs for your eating convenience. The menu is small but adequate…there’s really not much thinking involved with ordering here.
My advice is go with the Pineapple Whip Float. You get a cup full cold pineapple juice with a large swirling heap of their classic pineapple ice cream. The combination of juice and ice cream means this dish can be spooned or slurped through a straw…but it’s the perfect summertime treat.
They’re always serving their classic pineapple ice cream, which is tasty on its own (you can get it piled high in a cup or a cone). But they’ve got a number of rotating specials for your enjoyment, too. Currently they’re rocking a banana-berry swirl.
The Arkansas Pineapple Whip folks anticipate they’ve got another good month in them before they close for the season (so you’ve got until the around the end of September to get your whip on). I suggest you get over there soon.
