8 Great Food Deals and Values in Downtown

Great deals and values are all around us here in Little Rock. You just have to find them. Here are eight you won’t want to miss, all located in downtown.
$1 Menu at Brown Sugar Bakeshop
Did you know that Brown Sugar has a $1 dessert menu? They do … and it’s daily! Items like blueberry muffins, rice crispy treats, and fruit tarts are included.
Weekday Lunch Special at Vino’s
I love me some Vino’s, but unfortunately, have never taken advantage of their awesome lunch deal. From 11a-2p, diners can get a dinner salad, slice of 1-topping pizza and a beverage … all for $6.45.
Dinner Special at Iriana’s
Speaking of pizza, Iriana’s currently offers a $10.99 (+ tax) dinner special on a 16-inch large pepperoni pizza. This is not available for delivery and runs Monday-Thursday (2p-10p).
Fried Catfish Wednesday at Flying Fish
Fried catfish lovers, rejoice! If you have a huge appetite, then you might want to take advantage Flying Fish’s Wednesday all-you-can-eat fried catfish special. It’s $14.99 and runs from 2p-close. That’s a great value … especially if you can eat a lot!
Growlers to Go at Boscos
At Boscos, half gallon growlers for $10 (with a $3 refundable deposit) are now available. Includes: Boscos Famous Flaming Stone Beer, Bombay IPA, Downtown Brown, Isle of Skye Scottish Ale and seasonal beers.
Assorted Antipasto ala Vincenzo at Bruno’s Little Italy
At a hefty $17 price tag, this antipasto may not seem like a great value, but I assure you, it is. Why? Well, it’s a hefty portion of meats, cheese, marinated mushrooms and various other meticulously prepared items, all on one plate. Four people could share this appetizer, thus making it a dynamite deal.
3-lb Porterhouse at Doe’s Eat Place
Remember, were talking about value here, and paying $19.50 per pound for a damn near perfectly cooked steak, is really difficult to beat. Look around, check the prices … I bet you won’t find a place that prepares a steak like Doe’s, charging that price.
½ Off Jars at South on Main
Chef Matthew Lowman’s “jars” are half off during the Local Live concerts held every Wednesday evening. It’s a great way to take in some nice music and enjoy one of the better desserts in town for a very reasonable price. Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about, here’s a description of a typical jar: “Nilla Wafers and chantilly cream, layered with the best banana puddin’ you’ve ever had.”
